Denzel Washington was born in the US state of New York, in the small town of Mount Vernon. His father Denzel Hayes Washington, Sr., was a priest. His mother Lennis Love had its own beauty salon, which also worked as an administrator. Also Denzel's family had two children.
The boy went to the elementary school "Pennington-Grimes," and since 11 years he helped his mother in her salon, follow the simple instructions. But his father, who dreamed that his son would follow in his footsteps, not like accustoming the child to the money, and he often quarreled because of this with his wife. When Denzel was 14 years old, his parents divorced. The remaining classes, he graduated at a private boarding school, "Oakland Military Academy."
After high school, the young man goes to Fordham University in New York. He specializes in the fields of medicine and biology, but later transferred to the Faculty of Journalism.
